About this app

Under the auspices of the Ministry of Digital Governance.

The multilingual iSAVElives application:
• alerts the competent authorities (166-112),
• notifies and mobilizes (out of service) health-care professionals and certified First Responders,
• displays the location and provides navigation instructions to the nearest available Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) and
• empowers bystanders, using visual and audio cardiopulmonary resuscitation instructions (Guided CPR), when faced with life-threatening emergencies.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

A. For the bystander:
By confirming that you are witnessing a life-threatening emergency, the app:
• shares the location of the emergency with the nearest available certified First Responders,
• alerts the competent authorities (166-112) in case they have not already been notified,
• provides visual and audio cardiopulmonary resuscitation instructions (Guided CRP according to the recent European Resuscitation Council - ERC guidelines) for the timely managing of the emergency until the arrival of the competent authorities or the First certified Responder and
• displays the location and provides navigation instructions to the nearest available Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- No registration is required.
- It does not share ANY personal data other than the location of the emergency.
- For its proper operation it requires using an active Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

B. For the certified First Responder:
In case of a notification for a life-threatening emergency nearby, the app:
• shares the location of the emergency using audio and visual alerts and navigation instructions are provided,
• provides visual and audio cardiopulmonary resuscitation instructions (Guided CRP according to the recent European Resuscitation Council - ERC guidelines) for the timely managing of the incident until the arrival of the competent authorities or the First certified Responder and,
• displays the location and provides navigation instructions to the nearest available Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
- Registration is required for the certified First Responder.
- A valid certification is required.
- The right to respond or not to a life-threatening emergency without disclosing any personal data is guaranteed (complete anonymity).
- The application shares at regular intervals the most recent location of the certified First Responder according to his preferences, without keeping historical location data.

The iSAVElives application is part of the Pan-Hellenic iSAVElives network that aims at a holistic and comprehensive approach to a life-threatening emergency supporting the work of the National Health System, until the timely arrival of the competent authorities. It cultivates a volunteering culture to the fullest, as everyone involved acts in the light of volunteering, creating a society of active and responsible citizens.
